Warmer days are here and new trends in fashion and makeup are beginning to emerge in store windows. We absolutely love this season because it is more playful than winter with its dark colors. To make the most out of our new makeup goodies, we must first ensure that our skin is prepped. And as a happy season is worthy of a joyful product line, the ones from Callyssee Cosmetics are perfect for this occasion.
But first, coffee.
Start by cleansing your face with the Macchiato Foaming Cleansing Scrubber, with green coffee and green tea extract for glowing skin. The bottle has a soft scrubber tip where the product is pumped, so it is very easy to use and it doesn’t harm the skin in your face and neck. Its formula with Echinacea, Rosemary, and Ginseng deeply cleanses your face leaving it free fro impurities.
Then follow with a rich moisturizer like the Whipped Moisturizing Cream. You can choose the right one according to your skin type: oily, normal or dry. It also has organic green coffee extract to gently pamper your skin. Calendula extract will calm and refresh your face. This will make the perfect canvas for your makeup to sit perfectly and last longer.
Now bring on the trends!
As you know, Pantone Institute has great influence in trending colors for design in general: fashion, graphic, product, and interior design. Each year a new color is chosen as color of the year. Color of the Year 2019 is Living Coral, and this trend is stepping stronger in makeup as spring arrives. You can find it especially in lipsticks, but also in eye shadows.
Metallic shades are still on, as seen in various runways showing the spring and summer 2019 collection. The same trend applies to interior design and home décor. It is now OK to mix and match different metals and to add glitter to eyes, lips, or cheeks. For the eyes, use silver tones in your inner corners to give the illusion of a bigger look. Rose gold is welcomed in cheeks and eyelids. Yellow gold can be seen in eye shadows and in bronzers.
Bright but blurred lips
Bright colors in the range of the reds – and of course coral – are always on trend. If you never wear them because you are afraid of not getting that perfect, sharp edge, this year might be your year. The news is that now we may not be able to see a neat polished lip line, as the edges tend to be blurred. Just put on your lipstick as usual and then blur the line with a clean brush. Now you don’t have an excuse. Give your nude lipstick a break and try on those shades you always longed for.
A total look can be achieved using only one color. And the most seek after one for this technique is pink. Actually, blush can be used also as eyeshadow. You can build it up in different parts of your eyes for a more blended smoky-like effect. Pick a lipstick with a similar shade and your monochromatic look will be ready.
Yes, neon is back. And we can find it in bold eyeliners and in mascara. It is the right choice for a pop of color if you dare to have fun with makeup. For a dazzling look that will make heads turn around, go for some yellow or bright blue lashes. The best part is that with few amount of product you will be ready to go. Just put on some neon mascara, and you won’t need anything else.
Clean skin is trendy. Thick heavy foundations are leaving for good. This means that a skincare routine must be almost mandatory now that our skin will be exposed. But don’t panic: concealer is still on. So you can hide those little flaws under a concealer or a primer for a blurred effect.
Glossy, wet-like effect was very often seen in the runway shows, mostly the ones showcasing bathing suits. This look can be achieved using creamy and glossy products, or contouring with your concealer instead of using powder products. Creams with shiney residue like gold or silver can be very useful too.
Eyebrows are still in the picture. We’ve seen them brushed upwards and very well groomed with little powders or clear mascara. But we can also style them with bright colors as seen in Biblos and Guy Laroche runways. In those cases where the eyes were so bold, the rest of the makeup was left muted to avoid disturbing the focal point.
And when the night is over…
After playing around with all these new colors and textures, don’t forget to remove your makeup before going to bed. We know that this is the most annoying part of wearing makeup. Luckily there are amazing cleansers that can wash away every single bit of product – even that glittery shadow that now is all over your face! For a fast result, try Callyssee Foaming Skin Milk. It has organic green coffee seed extract and chamomile that cleanse your face and leave it with a smooth and soft appearance in only one minute. Just smooth a thin layer over your face in circular motions. Then remove using a cotton pad, and rinse thoroughly.
